Charles Sturt University (CSU) has welcomed a Nationals 2013 Policy Platform commitment to support the establishment of a Murray Darling Medical School at CSU's campuses in Orange and Wagga Wagga, and La Trobe University's campus at Bendigo.

Charles Sturt University and La Trobe University have welcomed the Federal National Party's commitment to create a $1 billion National Stronger Regions Fund and say it could be another important step towards creation of the Murray-Darling Medical School based in Orange, Bendigo and Wagga Wagga.

Work will commence on the construction of the $7.2 million facility in Wangaratta for CSU on Wednesday 4 September.
