The two-day event on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 May is organised to enable the television production students to meet with industry at CSU in Wagga Wagga on a formal and informal basis. It also provides an opportunity for broadcasters to provide information to the University on current industry employment requirements and training trends.

“An essential part of our television production degree is the direct relationship with industry, where students undertake professional workplace learning in their final year,” said television production lecturer Mr Patrick Sproule.

“During this event, students will be interviewed by the industry representatives for a professional placement.

“The visit by so many industry representatives is a chance for them to provide feedback on our course and to ensure we are meeting their needs through our course content and teachings.

“They will also get a chance to inspect our facilities including our television studio, edit suites and Outside Broadcast van.”

“The industry summit has become a key annual event for both Charles Sturt University and the broadcasters in terms of ensuring our relevance to industry, and the transition of graduates into entry level industry positions.”
