Mr Rod McCullochHave you ever dreamt of creating award winning advertising campaigns or reporting from exotic locations around the globe? Now you can discover how to launch your career at Charles Sturt University’s (CSU) communication courses information day - iDay07 - at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum on Saturday 25 August.

Mr Rod McCulloch, Acting Head of CSU’s School of Communication and iDay07 coordinator, says this is the third year of iDay, which is designed to allow intending students to speak directly to lecturers and course coordinators about studying at CSU’s School of Communication and School of Visual and Performing Arts.

“CSU communication courses have educated many highly successful journalists, stage and screen performers and producers, advertising executives, designers, photographers and public relations professionals, including Enough Rope’s Andrew Denton and Channel Ten newsreader Jessica Rowe,” Mr McCulloch said.

iDay07 aims to help prospective students, including Year 10 students, to select CSU because it is not only recognised as a leading communication education provider, but it has a very strong record in graduate employment.

“CSU staff at iDay07 will provide advice about choosing the right course, entry requirements and career prospects as a CSU graduate, and current CSU students will be present to talk about their course experiences.

“CSU’s School of Communication and School of Visual and Performing Arts were the first of their kind in Australia. Our graduates are highly sought after and we have won many international awards. I believe we are considered the premier Schools within industry circles, and our courses enjoy very close support from the industry bodies and the professions we serve,” Mr McCulloch said.

The School of Communication, based on the University’s Bathurst Campus, offers vocationally oriented courses in advertising; advertising and marketing; print and broadcast journalism; public relations and organisational communication; commercial radio; and theatre/media.

The School of Visual and Performing Arts on Wagga Wagga Campus offers specialist courses in acting for screen and stage; design for theatre and television; fine art; jewellery design; multimedia/animation and visual effects; graphic design and photography; and television production.
