CSU iDay08 at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum

If media coverage of the XXIX Olympiad at Beijing, China, has prompted high school students to consider a career in the global media industry, they can discover how to launch their career at CSU communication courses information day - iDay08 - at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum on Saturday 30 August.

Head of CSU’s School of Communication and iDay08 coordinator, Associate Professor Rod McCulloch, says iDay08 aims to help prospective students, including Year 10 students, to choose CSU because it is recognised as a leading communication education provider and has a very strong record in graduate employment.
 
“CSU communication courses have educated many highly successful journalists, stage and screen performers and producers, advertising executives, designers, photographers and public relations professionals,” Professor McCulloch said.
 
“CSU staff at iDay08 will provide advice about choosing the right course, entry requirements and career prospects as a CSU graduate, with current CSU students on hand to talk about their course experiences.
 
“CSU’s School of Communication and School of Visual and Performing Arts were the first of their kind in Australia. Our courses enjoy very close support from the industry bodies and the professions we serve. We have won many international awards and our graduates are highly sought by companies of all sizes,” he said.
 
Now in its fourth year, iDay08 is designed to allow intending students to speak directly to course coordinators, as well as past and present students, about studying at CSU’s School of Communication and School of Visual and Performing Arts.
 
The School of Communication, at the University’s Bathurst Campus, offers vocationally oriented courses in advertising; advertising/marketing; print and broadcast journalism; public relations and organisational communication; public relations and organisational communication/business studies (double degree); commercial radio; and theatre/media.
 
The School of Visual and Performing Arts on CSU’s Wagga Wagga Campus offers specialist courses in acting for screen and stage; design for theatre and television; fine art; jewellery design; multimedia, animation and visual effects; graphic design and photography; and television production.
