Australian Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, Senator Helen Coonan, will formally announce the allocation of $4.5 million to the construction of a high speed fibre optic network that will connect Charles Sturt University (CSU) Bathurst and Orange campuses into the Australian Research and Education Network (AREN).
The completion of the Mitchell Link of AREN will facilitate improved delivery of higher education services to our regions.
The partners in the funded project are the NSW Department of Commerce, Soul Pty Ltd and CSU through the Australian Academic and Research Network (AARNet) Pty Ltd. (APL). Each of the partners will have access to separate capacity on the network.
