Charles Sturt University's reputation for successfully delivering education programs over the Internet is gaining national and international recognition with recent awards for on-line services provided by the University.

CSU was awarded an international citation recently in Brunei for excellence in on-line education from the Commonwealth of Learning, which represents public education institutions from Commonwealth countries worldwide.

The University received the certificate of merit from the Canadian-based organisation for its achievements in developing on-line education programs for NSW Higher School Certificate students and for the University's own students.

Charles Sturt University was recognised by the international award's selection panel for its "innovative and effective application of learning technologies to reach students who might otherwise have been excluded from participating in education".

And on Tuesday 23 March, the NSW Department of Education and Training won a national 1999 Government Technology Productivity Award for its use of on-line educational technology, particularly the popular NSW HSC On-Line website, which was developed by Charles Sturt University in collaboration with the Department.

NSW HSC On-Line, already recognised by many Australian media as "must-see" website, provides Year 12 students in NSW with a wide range of resources, from past HSC papers to on-line tutorials. Through this site, NSW students and teachers can access useful study materials wherever they are - from Broken Hill and Ballina to Bexley North, as well as final year high school students living around Australia and overseas.

The contents of this site are regularly assessed and updated by senior teachers from the Department of Education and senior CSU academic staff.
