Prospective students to tour facilities at Open Day at Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie

Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie to welcome prospective students in first Open Day

  • Charles Sturt to hold Open Day at Port Macquarie campus on Sunday 25 August
  • The University is bringing back Open Days after more than a decade
  • Tours, information sessions and demonstrations will run from 10am to 2pm

The Open Day at Charles Sturt University (Charles Sturt) in Port Macquarie will show prospective students what living and studying at Charles Sturt is all about.

The campus in Port Macquarie will throw open its doors to potential students, their families and members of the community to come and see what Charles Sturt life is really like.

Tours of accommodation and learning spaces will be available and at the Expo Hub, attendees will be able to hear from representatives from the University’s ResLife and Indigenous Access teams, and admissions centre.

Prospective students will also hear about online study, support services, scholarships, clubs and societies, postgraduate study and how to gain early entry through the Charles Sturt Advantage program.

Information from current students and academics will be available for a range of courses, including, education, graphic design, social work, nursing, communication, IT, accounting, exercise, sport and nutrition sciences, dentistry, science, paramedicine, animal and veterinary science and justice and behavioural studies.

Director, External Engagement for Charles Sturt in Port Macquarie Ms Kate Wood-Foye said the Open Day is ideal for anyone wanting to experience a real taste of coastal university life in Port Macquarie.

“The team is so excited to throw open the campus gates and launch our Open Day here in Port Macquarie on Sunday,” Ms Wood-Foye said.

“We are so lucky to have such an incredible facility, team and diverse course offering right here on the coast – it is going to be a fabulous day full of inspiration, fun, food and finding out all about university life.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to see all the exciting on-campus developments, university facilities, meet our lecturers and find out about our full range of courses on offer.”

Ms Wood-Foye invites alumni, prospective students and their families, mature age students and members of the community to attend the Open Day on Sunday 25 August from 10am to 2pm.
